✔ Speech & Pronunciation (Articulation & Phonology)
- Helping children correctly produce speech sounds for clear communication.
- Addressing speech sound delays, lisps, and difficulties with certain letter sounds.
✔ Language Development
- Supporting children in understanding and using words, sentences, and grammar effectively.
- Helping with following instructions, answering questions, and expanding vocabulary.
✔ Fluency (Stuttering & Cluttering)
- Assisting children who stutter or struggle with speech flow and rhythm.
- Providing techniques to improve speech fluency and confidence.
✔ Social Communication (Pragmatic Language)
- Teaching children how to start and maintain conversations, take turns, and understand social cues.
- Supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in developing communication skills.
✔ Literacy
- Helping children develop literacy skills by supporting difficulties in areas such as phonological awareness, sound-letter knowledge, and reading comprehension.
Providing targeted therapy, home practice strategies, and collaboration with educators to support literacy development in everyday contexts.
At Motion Health Kids Therapy, we understand that every child is unique, and therapy sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and tailored to your childs individual needs. We work closely with families, educators, and other healthcare professionals to create a supportive environment where your children can reach their full potential.
Initial Appointment
At Motion Kids Therapy, the initial appointment with a physiotherapist is made up of 2 parts:
Part 1 Face-to-Face Session (45 minutes): The first in-person session at the clinic, where the therapist builds on the background information provided and commence assessment with your child. This may include standardised or non-standardised assessments.
Part 2 Non-Face-to-Face Support (30 minutes): 30 min non face to face supports which may include completion of scoring, analysis of standardised assessments, and formulation of therapy goals and a therapy plan to be discussed at the next session. It may also involve a follow-up phone call with the parent/carer if further clarification is needed or liaison with other professionals working with your child.
Ongoing Therapy Appointments
Your speech therapist will set goals with your family and child, and support your child to achieve these goals by:
- Recommending ongoing therapy based on your child’s individual needs. Frequency may vary depending on the needs of the child, but appointments are usually 45 minutes in duration, with 15 minutes allocated for preparation and documentation.
- We provide parents and caregivers with resources to actively support their child’s speech therapy journey. When a multidisciplinary team is involved, our occupational therapists collaborate regularly with other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for your child.
Assessments
Our therapists provide assessments across all areas of speech pathology, including:
- Speech
- Language
- Fluency
- Literacy

After Your Assessment: Ongoing Therapy Appointments (60 minutes)
